In compliance with the Clery Act, the Department of 公共安全 maintains a Daily Crime & Fire Log. The crime log includes all reports of criminal conduct, including anonymous submissions, as they are received by 公共安全. The crime log describes the nature of the reported crime, date the crime was reported, date and time the crime occurred, general location of the reported crime and disposition of the complaint, if known.

The log does not reflect any assessment of the veracity of the reported details, the credibility of the included reports, or that a reported crime has actually been committed. Its purpose is solely to provide timely and transparent information to the campus community about reported incidents on or near campus. This enables community members to make informed decisions regarding their personal safety. Please be aware that in some instances, there may be a delay between when an incident occurred and when it was reported to 公共安全.

公共安全 enters or updates reports within two business days of receiving the information. The Daily Crime Log records all crimes reported to 公共安全 within our geographical area of responsibility. However, there are times when information may be withheld from the log, such as if there is clear and convincing evidence that releasing such information would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual, cause a suspect to flee or evade detection, or result in the destruction of evidence. In such instances, information may be withheld until the adverse effect is no longer likely to occur. In addition, updates are not required after 60 days have passed from the date of the initial entry.
